Poetry Friday, Week 31: It's Been a Minute

Tabatha at The Opposite of Indifference is hosting today. She's offering a poem that included her OLW: Listen in it and other delicious quotes.  Plus she's about to embark on a new book adventure.

I really didn't mean to be absent for three weeks but as they say life happens. Ad most of that life has been with my best boy, Buster, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge last Friday,  When I saw Tabatha's OLW, it made me think how my OLW, Love, played a huge part in the decision to let him go, And for now, that's all I have about Buster.  The words, images and feelings are swirling in and around  the heart and soon I might be ready to share more. Yesterday, was the first day I wrote anything in ten days.

One of the best things has been arrivals in the mailbox. Three poetry swaps have arrived. I'm sharing two of them today. The first is from Robyn Hood Black. I met Robin in person the year we attended Poetry camp in Bellingham, WA. She introduced interest participants to mixed media and I've been a student ever since. Her handmade collage card contained this haiku:

I love how she used "tilt"!  Robyn contributed a photo for  "Where in the World is Tilt?" on HERE.

My second swap arrived from Patricia Frantz with beautiful hand made poem book, "Hiking Church".

Hiking Church

rainbow mist kissed
the curved trail, veil
of ribbon winding,
                      spell-binding,
majesty on a vertical wall,
call to prayer,
                      prayer,
                             prayer

Summer Poetry Swap never disappoints!.

 Thank you for Tilt love.
I appreciate those who have taken the time to leave reviews and also share their love of the book with our Poetry Friday community.

  • Heidi @ My Juicy Little Universe
  • Fun Fact: Tilt is being read on FOUR continents:
    North America
  • South America
  • Europe
  • Australia (thanks for the purchase Alan Wright!)I featured his holding Tilt on Substack yesterday.
  • If you take a picture of Tilt in the world and send it to me, I'd love to include it on the "Where in the World is Tilt"?

  • I'm happy to say that Tilt can be found now at Bookshop.org and Barnes and Noble.

Curious about November and Poetry Palooza

It's only three months off before I'm heading to Poetry Palooza.  Who else will be there?

Hi Jone, so sorry about Buster. Sending a big hug your way.
Those poem swaps are so pretty! I love that "tilt" in Robyn's. So clever. Patricia's sounds good out loud.

Oh Jone, I'm so sorry for your loss. No doubt he has a long, strong hold on your heart. What a gift to have had him for so long!

Jone, I am so sorry about Buster! I saw your haiku yesterday about reaching for him. It made me sad for you. Losing a beloved pet is the worst! I love that you shared your summer swaps. I must have missed the week there was a call for them. I'll have to pay more attention next year because I really missed sending and getting them - I think this is the first year in four I didn't do it. Take care. Hugs.

Jone, what a sadness, losing your best boy. I'm sorry. There is such an ache with pet loss. I'm glad you took some time to just be you. Love is such a great word for you. I see Love in everything you do online. I'm so grateful for the ways you've included it in Tilt! Your loving Buster all the way to the end and this post. Take care, friend.
