Patricia at Reverie is hosting today. She's sharing an Emily Dickinson poem and one of her own regarding the changing seasons. I talked a bit about the seasonal rhythms yesterday at SJT on my Substack site. Today I'm spilling the tea about what my poetry happenings. I'm finally doing something I've been itching to do since retirement: host an in-person writing group. My local tea house, Cup of Tea, opens at noon on Sundays and she welcomes community events prior to opening. We met last Sunday since this Sunday is over Labor Day weekend and I'm out of town. I gave a prompt: eclipse. And off the participants wrote. Ideas for series and future stories abounded, I shared a shadorma: cloudy night a lunar eclipse peek-a-boos behind trees a small slice hides for a moment you’ve been gone nine years ©jone rush macculloch, 2026 I'm excited that this is off and running, It's a generative, low stakes experience. I heard from a former parent that she plans to join in next month. Now mark your calendars for the next Poetry Pop-Up Salon on Saturday, October 3 at 11 AM EST. Details will follow closer to the date. More Tea to Spill:
Thank you for Tilt love. I appreciate those who have taken the time to leave reviews and also share their love of the book with our Poetry Friday community.

Happy Poetry Friday! Tabatha at The Opposite of Indifference is hosting Poetry Friday. She has all sorts of goodness, especially the unveiling of her Brave Zine which you can read it online here. I feel lucky to have three poems in it. It's been a week, hasn't it? My weekend was a poetry filled one. Starting on Friday with a Zoom meeting with Kim Stafford to kick out the #StaffordChallenge. Then Saturday morning, I hosted a "Poetry for Persistence" for creatives. We had a chance to talk and write and share. It was wonderful to be in community with others. And I continued Saturday with another poetry project. Sunday was my third class with Joan Kwon Glass, an amazing poet who creates space for writing to fall out of you onto the page. Monday to avoid the television and to be in a sacred space, we drove to Wildwood. morning drive wildwood recreation we follow green glowy lichen paths, reach the river skip stones- we’ll persist ©jone rush macculloch, 7/365 SAVE THE DATEWe need more community! Join me on Saturday, April 5, 11 AM-1PM EST (feel free to come for all or part) to kick off National Poetry Month. Details soon!
Wow! This week. Thank you pollens for being so high and causing itchy eyes, asthma, and tiredness. UGH! So today, four poems. Three a series on the Junco nest in my hanging flower pot. One for Earth Day. Earth Day has always been special to me. Everyday should be earth day. This is a photo I took last week when visiting a college friend.
