This National Poetry Month(NPM), I am writing and sharing original poems about food, family and feasts. Sundays will be a day to reshare a poem from the past. A list of links to previous poems is HERE.

Today is Earth Day. 50th Anniversary. I remember organizing the event for our school, making the Earth Day flag, and planting seeds. So today a tiny break from the all food focused poems. (although I snuck in a Earth Day food related haiku).

I’ve been thinking a lot about the COVID-19 and how our world has changed since mid-March. I wonder if our earth, universe, whatever, said, “Okay, you humans won’t do the necessary things to save our natural world, so I am sending sending something that will ground you, make you stay home, and rethink how we exist in collaboration with nature.”
