This month for Laura Shovan’s birthday month, she is hosting the eighth annual poetry poetry. This year the theme is WATER. This week, there was a post about SLURPEE WAVES. Have you ever heard of them? If not, here are two places to investigate:
SLURPEE WAVES. and ELITEDAILY.

Yesterday, I taught in a kinder class. We watched the video, came up with our word list and wrote a group SKINNY poem:

The Slurpee Waves

By Mrs. Henderson’s Kinders

They are slushy
Slurpee waves
Slippery
Dangerous
Icy ice
Slurpee waves
Push you back
Whoosh
Salty frozen
Slurpee waves
They are slushy

spindrift tides
crashing the shoreline
winter’s grasp
on the sea
starfish cartwheel in the slush
of the slurpee waves

water sprites
dive into seafoam
surfers ride
slurpee waves
billows, roiling, undulating
winter’s icy gift
