Thank to Tabatha at The Opposite of Indifference for bringing us all the poetry goodness.

Next week it will be April. How is that possible? I decided a while back to focus on food poems. There is just something about food, family, and feasts. Do you have a favorite recipe? Or a utensil that maybe has been in your family forever that you love using? I’ve been thinking about these things of late (and before sheltering in place).

My notebook entry.
And for today a Golden Shovel poem.
When You Speak of Love
Food is our common ground, a universal experience.

~James Beard

When you speak of love is food
a nugget of your language? Is
food a morsel of your soul, our
connective tissue, the common
thread that roots itself in the ground.
Seedlings that sprout in a
garden of words, our universal
truths, and experience

Consider yourself invited to the food fest.

STUDENT POETRY POSTCARDS

There is still time for Student Poetry Postcards. In this time of social distancing, they might bring cheer.

I have about fifty postcards created by students. I want to sent them off to good homes for National Poetry Month. Please sign up below.
