![]() Welcome to Poetry Friday, hosted today by Trisha at The Miss Rumphius Effect. Amidst moving, Trisha is gracious doing Poetry Friday and doing it old school. Yesterday, Dave at Leap of Dave, offered the prompt for the monthly Spiritual Thursday Journey. This has been something that I decided to be curious about and join in this year. His prompt had these questions:
![]() A lot to ponder! And I want to speak especially to the first question bo t physical place. It made me think of a book I have been reading recently, Celtic Ways to Pray: Finding God in the Natural Elements by Ruth Lindberg Pattison. Visiting Ireland last June, resonated with me in a deep, deep way. I was home. I creturned very curious about how the Irish meld the Celtic beliefs with Christianity. I am a seeker, I always have been. Maybe in another life, I would have studied theology. Part one explores God in Earth and it was perfect for Dave's question about physical place. I have several to share below. I collect rocks (my suitcase was too heavy returning from Ireland and Scotland because of this). My photos are visual prayers.

I still cherish the photo-poem you gave me in one of the poetry exchanges. How did you make this into a video slideshow? I'm not sure my blog would be able to handle it. How lovely. 6/2/2023 04:55:15 pm
Your slideshow is indeed full of spiritual places, Jone. I have been to a few of them, bringing the word "awe" to birth! There is much we don't understand from long in the past, what we have brought into our lives without even a wonder why. Thanks! (FYI - the link on Tricia's post is broken) 6/2/2023 07:05:56 pm
Deep and lovely, Jone - your images, words, and you! The book sounds wonderful and right up our alleys over here. Thanks for sharing all.

Jone, this is beautiful. I couldn't pull a Spiritual Journey post together for this month. But, I feel like you wrote what I've been experiencing. I am also a seeker and from day 1 a spiritual person...the journey has been rocky for me as I wrestle with the "churchiness" of my journey. I'm so glad you felt home in Ireland. I thought I was super Irish until my sister recent DNA test showed that my generation is mostly "just English." LOL! What a wonderful post. I will ponder these questions and maybe answer with photos! Never thought of that. You continue to inspire me. 6/6/2023 05:23:59 am
When I went to Ireland I also was taken by the ancient rocks and felt a bit at home, too, as my last name I believe comes from that part of the world. Everywhere I have lived, I I became attached to the hills, water, and rock--the place. Love your quote about stone. 6/7/2023 07:13:41 pm
My Irish and Scottish roots are stirred, Jone, at the beauty here! Thanks for this. 6/12/2023 08:50:00 am
Joan, I am sorry that I did not comment. I thought I did but I see that there is none above. Your poems are stunning and photos a travel guide for spiritual thought they are indeed visual prayers! Comments are closed.
